WE ARE SAIL MELBOURNE INTERNATIONAL 

Sail Melbourne is Australia’s premier Olympic and Invited Classes Regatta, held annually in the waters of Port Phillip, Victoria. Established in 1992 it has become the largest annual ‘Off the Beach’ regatta in the southern hemisphere and is critical to the growth and success of junior and youth sailors, enabling them to race alongside their Olympic heroes. 

Sail Melbourne attracts and conducts numerous World Championship Regattas each summer, with over 30 hosted to date. Sail Melbourne also played host to the Oceania leg of the Sailing World Cup from 2012 to 2015 as well as hosting the Sailing World Cup Final in 2016.

The Sail Melbourne Regatta now known as the ‘Sail Melbourne International’ (SMI), will this year be run from Royal Brighton Yacht Club from 29th November to 3rd December as the inaugural leg of the new Asia Pacific Circuit.

Royal Brighton Yacht Club is one of the largest and most recognised yacht clubs in Australia. Boasting fantastic waters to sail in and of of the newest and best floating marinas on the Bay, it is the perfect host for Sail Melbourne.

The 2017 Sail Melbourne International event, to be held at Royal Brighton Yacht Club, will play host to the inaugural Victorian Kite Foil State Championships. Kiters will take to the water to harness the feeling of flying on their kites to race the course alongside a host of other sailing classes. Kiteboarding Victoria has put their support behind the first Victorian Kite Foil State Championship.

Sail Melbourne International is calling for volunteers for this year’s event, hosted at Royal Brighton Yacht Club. You can click here to register .  Sail Melbourne will be conducted from Wednesday 29 November – Sunday 3 December 2017, offering sailing to the Olympic and Invited Classes and will offer a fantastic volunteering experience.
